A carpet can be a nightmare to some people when cleaning, especially if one of your kids spill something on it. Undoubtedly, this will cause a stain that might not be irreversible and most of the time you can only alleviate the problem. However, some of you might not have the necessary tools to clean the carpet at that moment. As you know, the quicker you are, the easier time you will have to clean that stain on the carpet. So, here are some of the tips that you can realistically use to treat that stain on your carpet, and hopefully bring it back to its original colour and style with little to no damage.
The first way that you can try to remove the stain or dirt from your carpet is to use a brush. The brush that you are going to need to use does not have to be a premium one or anything special; for example, even an old, used toothbrush might be sufficient & do the trick. For this method using a brush of some sort, you need to first start by agitating the brush against your carpet to remove soil, dust, and other pollutants from the fabric. This requires you to get on your hands and knees and carefully use some elbow grease which might not be so attractive, but it is necessary if you want to keep your carpet stain-free. Remember, always let the brush do the work for you, do not get carried away, scrub too hard and ruin the delicate carpet you are trying to keep clean. After that, you can use a vacuum cleaner to clean off the dust and other things from the surface of the carpet. For maximum cleanliness, you might have to do this once a week, which should leave your carpet looking as good as new for a long time.
Another way get your carpets clean, with an additional benefit of a fresh smell after the job is done, is by using vinegar. The things that you need for this will be one and a quarter cups of white vinegar, scrubbing brush, warm water, and a bucket of some sort. This is an alternative method if you do not have a good stream cleaner of your own. To start off this process, fill the bucket with some warm water and mix it with one and a quarter cups of white vinegar. Once you have given it a proper mixing, dip your scrubbing brush into the solution and start scrubbing your carpet right away. The trick to this is to make your carpet a little bit wet and not soaked with the solution you have just made. After you have scrubbed the carpet to your satisfaction, empty the bucket and fill again, but this time with fresh water. Use a rag or a towel and dip it into the water that you have just brought, then start scrubbing once more. Once you are done, you can let it dry, and it will smell fresh and if done right, it should look clean right after.
The last method is to use your everyday baking soda which you might already have in your kitchen or stored away somewhere in a cupboard within your home. Just apply baking soda directly onto the stain and spray some hot water on it. Once it is dried, you next need to get the vacuum cleaner out and use it to suck the baking soda back off the carpet stain and that’s it, you are done.
